Development Team Lead & Tech Owner

One of Israel’s leading investment houses is looking for a Development Team Lead & Tech Owner to lead a new B2B platform. The role includes building an in-house development team from scratch, providing hands-on technical leadership, and taking full ownership of the product and SDLC while gradually transitioning development from an external vendor to the internal team.

What You'll Do

• Build the development team from scratch, including hiring, establishing processes, technical leadership, and mentoring.

• Lead hands-on development, including coding, code reviews, solving complex technical challenges, and making architectural decisions.

• Take professional ownership of the external development vendor and lead the gradual transition of knowledge and responsibility to the internal team.

• Build and maintain the product architecture based on Python, AWS Lambda, and React.

• Work closely with the CTO and Product team on the platform’s strategy and development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in Full Stack development - Must

• Significant hands-on experience with Python and React, including production development and architecture - Must

• 3+ years of experience leading a development team, including code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentoring - Must

• Experience with AWS, particularly Lambda/Serverless - Must

• Hands-on experience with Microservices - Must

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment - Must

• Experience using AI tools as part of day-to-day development - Must

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - Must

• Independence, ownership, and a strong system-level perspective - Must

• Experience working with external development vendors and transitioning systems or ownership to an internal team - Advantage

• Familiarity with AI-based or financial systems - Advantage
