Embedded Software Engineer

Embedded Software Engineer | Hard Real-Time | Leading Defense Organization

A leading defense organization in the Shfela area is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software infrastructure for complex Hard Real-Time embedded systems.

The role involves low-level C/C++ development, close interaction with hardware, driver and communication protocol development, RTOS and Bare-Metal environments, and end-to-end software/hardware integration throughout the product lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain low-level software components and drivers using C/C++

• Implement and maintain communication protocols including UART, SPI, CAN, and Ethernet

• Develop software for Hard Real-Time and Bare-Metal systems

• Work with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS and VxWorks

• Develop system-level software with direct hardware interaction

• Analyze and implement system and software requirements

• Perform Unit, Integration, and System testing

• Optimize software performance to meet strict Real-Time requirements

• Integrate software and hardware components

• Collaborate with Hardware, FPGA, System Engineering, and QA teams

• Support the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design through integration and deployment

• Write technical specifications, design documents, and test documentation

What We're Looking For

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a relevant scientific field – required

• Proven hands-on experience developing Hard Real-Time systems – required

• Strong systems-level thinking and problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team

Significant Advantages

• Hands-on Embedded C/C++ development experience

• Experience with low-level software and driver development

• Experience working directly with hardware components and interfaces

• Experience with UART, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, or similar communication protocols

• Experience with Bare Metal, FreeRTOS, or VxWorks

• Experience developing, integrating, and testing Embedded Real-Time systems

• Strong understanding of low-level software layers, OS integration, and hardware-facing APIs

• Experience independently leading development from requirements through testing and integration

• Experience writing technical design and test documentation
