Engineering Design Manager (Data Center) JB-5456

A leading company in the field of Data Centers and AI infrastructure is seeking an Engineering Design Manager to lead the planning, design, and integration of engineering systems across complex, multidisciplinary projects.

The role includes end-to-end responsibility for the design process – from translating project and client requirements into engineering designs, through managing and coordinating designers and consultants across multiple disciplines, to ensuring full integration and coordination between all systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the design of systems for complex engineering projects.

• Take responsibility for the integration and coordination of multiple systems and infrastructure within the facility.

• Manage and coordinate designers and professional consultants across various engineering disciplines.

• Translate project specifications and client requirements into practical, coordinated engineering designs.

• Manage interfaces between disciplines and resolve design gaps and conflicts.

• Lead design processes in a dynamic environment involving changes and adaptations throughout the project lifecycle.

• Work closely with professional stakeholders, project managers, suppliers, and clients.

• Drive professional stakeholders and interfaces to meet project objectives and schedules.

• The position reports to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer – mandatory.

• Experience in the design and/or design management of industrial facilities, infrastructure, or complex engineering systems – mandatory.

• Strong systems-level and integrative perspective, with an understanding of interfaces between different engineering systems.

• Experience managing and coordinating design teams and consultants across multiple disciplines.

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders, frequent changes, and challenging schedules.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to drive professional stakeholders without direct managerial authority.

• Experience and familiarity with Data Center facilities – a significant advantage.

• Knowledge and experience with several of the following systems:

• Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems.

• High-capacity low-voltage power distribution systems.

• Power generation and generator systems.

• Industrial HVAC systems and process cooling systems based on chilled/hot water.

• Fuel systems.

• Industrial water systems, including sprinklers and hydrants.

• BMS and SCADA systems.

• Communication and extra-low-voltage systems.

• Fire detection and suppression systems.
