Position Summary:

Lead the design, execution, analysis, and optimization of environmental testing for advanced electro-optical products and assemblies. The role includes operating the environmental test laboratory, continuously upgrading its infrastructure, and driving safe, efficient, and well-documented laboratory workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop test plans based on system requirements, project specifications, and military standards, with an emphasis on MIL-STD-810.

• Design and execute environmental tests, including temperature, heat load, cooling rates, shock, vibration, high pressure, leak, flow rate, and lifetime/endurance testing.

• Support key design reviews, qualification trials, Delta Qual, gap testing, and failure analysis investigations.

• Operate environmental lab equipment, including setup preparation, fixtures, sensors, gauges, DAQ systems, and data loggers.

• Collect, process, and analyze test data, generate graphs, write qualification/test reports, and document engineering findings.

• Drive continuous lab improvement regarding safety, 5S standards, equipment availability, maintenance, automation, infrastructure, and new tool integration.

• Support R&D projects and vendors for cooling systems, detectors, electro-optical assemblies, and ruggedized products.

• Author and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), operating instructions, checklists, and test protocols.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.

• 2–5 years of experience in test environments, R&D laboratories, system testing, or integration.

• Hands-on experience designing or executing environmental tests (temperature, vibration, shock, pressure, leak, or heat load).

• Strong hands-on capabilities working with lab equipment, test setups, fixtures, and measurement systems.

• Demonstrated data analysis capabilities, graph generation, and engineering report writing.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic data processing tools.

• Strong technical English proficiency.

• High level of independence, attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking skills.

• High safety awareness for working with high pressure, extreme temperatures, mechanical shock/vibration, and handling equipment.

Advantages:

• Experience working according to MIL-STD-810.

• Hands-on familiarity with thermal chambers, electrodynamic shakers, shock towers, high-pressure, flow, and leak testing systems.

• Knowledge of sensors, DAQ systems, data loggers, and instrumentation.

• Background in electro-optical products, cryogenic/cooling systems, detectors, or military/ruggedized hardware.

• Proficiency using AI tools for report generation, test design, data analysis, and process optimization.

• Scripting/automation skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.

• Experience in failure root-cause analysis, lab infrastructure development, and vendor management.

Key Competencies:

• Practical, hands-on approach with end-to-end test execution capabilities.

• Strong systems thinking, initiative, and multi-interface communication skills.
