Field Operations Manager

ESP 710 develops and manufactures tactical loitering munitions and reconnaissance UAS for defense applications.

About the Role

We are establishing a dedicated Red Team unit to evaluate and challenge current and in-development C-UAS systems across the defense industry.

A core part of the role is in-house development: the team actively designs, builds, and modifies realistic airborne platforms to replicate both immediate battlefield threats and emerging adversary capabilities. We deploy these platforms in field trials to stress-test defense systems against truly relevant, evolving threat profiles under operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adversarial Testing (Red Teaming): Challenge defense infrastructure and operational systems by simulating real-world offensive drone tactics and threats.

• Threat Simulation & Tech Development: Design, build, and deploy proxy adversary drone technologies and tactics anticipated in future battlefields.

• C-UAS Evaluation: Plan, execute, and evaluate Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) performance under field conditions.

• Field Execution: Lead, organize, and execute complex field flight operations dynamically and safely.

Requirements:

• Operational & Command Experience: Proven operational and command background in offensive/reconnaissance drone systems (UAV/UAS) – Mandatory.

• Tactical Mindset: Highly proactive, fast learner of defensive systems, with a deep understanding of how to expose operational blind spots and vulnerabilities.

• Tech Understanding: Hands-on understanding of complementary drone technologies (Fiber Optics, GPS-denied navigation, RF, Visual Positioning).

• Skilled in FPV drone building and assembly, precision electronics soldering, and component-level hardware troubleshooting.

• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, capable of working closely with professional teams and external stakeholders.

• Field Leadership: Strong organization and management skills to lead dynamic field deployments and flight days.

Strong Advantages (Nice to Have):

• High-level FPV piloting experience.

• Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration, configuration, and tuning in Betaflight or ArduPilot environments.
