The Challenge & The Role
We are seeking a Staff / Core Systems Engineer to own our primary execution engine.
You won’t build CRUD APIs, basic UI dashboards, or generic cloud wrappers. Instead, you will tackle core distributed systems problems: building sub-second control planes, designing spot-loss mitigation mechanisms, and managing real-time state across high-volume telemetry.
Working side-by-side with our technical founders, you'll take architecture from napkin sketches to low-level production tuning.
What You’ll Do
• Architect Distributed Systems: Design high-throughput control engines executing real-time resource allocation decisions in milliseconds.
• Build Infrastructure Resilience: Engineer self-healing mechanisms ensuring zero downtime across mission-critical compute fleets.
• Scale Data Infrastructure: Expand our core execution engine to manage complex distributed data pipelines (Spark, Flink, Trino).
• Drive End-to-End Ownership: Take full technical agency over core platform components—from architectural specs to low-level profiling and production deployment.
Who You Are
• Deep Systems Expertise: 6+ years of backend engineering building distributed systems, cloud schedulers, or performance-critical engines.
• Production Mastery: Deep proficiency in Go or Python, with strong knowledge of concurrency models, memory management, and low-latency system tuning.
• Cloud & Orchestration Native: Hands-on experience debugging and running complex production workloads on AWS and Kubernetes at scale.
• Production Ownership: Proven track record of navigating non-obvious distributed systems outages under heavy production loads.

• Experience with large-scale compute engines (Spark, Flink, Databricks, Trino) or custom distributed schedulers.
