Freelance Information Systems Analyst, Data Migration Project JB-5520

A leading technology marketplace platform, processing over 600,000 transactions per month, is looking for an experienced Senior Information Systems Analyst for a freelance data migration project.

The role will focus on analyzing two existing information systems, mapping their data models, processes and business logic, identifying architectural gaps, and defining a structured migration approach from the source system to the target system.

This is an independent, project-based role working closely with Product and Technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Map the source system, including data structures, processes and business logic

• Analyze the target system architecture and its limitations

• Identify gaps between different data models and architectures

• Define and recommend the appropriate data migration approach

• Create detailed specifications and an implementation plan for the development team

• Build a structured project plan including phases, milestones and risk management

• Work independently with Product and Technology stakeholders throughout the project

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Information Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst or Technical Business Analyst

• Strong experience analyzing complex systems, business processes and data structures

• Experience with data migration, system migration or complex integration projects

• Strong SQL and relational database experience

• Experience working with NoSQL databases - an advantage

• Ability to independently investigate an existing system and translate findings into structured documentation and implementation plans

• Strong business orientation and experience working directly with multiple business stakeholders

• Ability to bridge between business requirements, data and development teams

• Experience in marketplace, subscription, payments or other transaction-heavy environments - an advantage
