We're seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join a high-performing engineering team responsible for building and maintaining scalable products, services, and platforms. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full software development lifecycle while working on complex technical challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

📍 Location Tel Aviv, Israel

Hybrid model with 1-2 days onsite per week.

💰 Rate: €104 per hour

⏳ Contract Duration: 6-Month Independent Contractor Contract

40 hours per week

About the Role

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions based on business requirements, owning services end-to-end, and contributing to architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product stakeholders, and architects to build scalable and reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

• Design and build software applications using modern development languages, frameworks, and tools.

• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.

• Refactor and improve existing systems using appropriate design patterns.

• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure software quality.

• Uphold security, integrity, and data quality standards.

End-to-End Ownership

• Own services throughout their lifecycle, from development through production support.

• Monitor system health, performance, and operational metrics.

• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.

• Support continuous delivery and experimentation practices.

• Manage deployments and production operations.

Incident Management

• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within SLA targets.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.

• Contribute to postmortems and reliability improvements.

Systems Design & Architecture

• Evaluate and recommend technical and architectural solutions.

• Assess the impact of system changes and new services.

• Participate in prototyping, technical spikes, and technology evaluations.

• Design scalable solutions that support future growth.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and engineering practices.

• Drive performance, quality, and operational improvements.

• Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience

• Java, Csharp or Python

• Experience building and maintaining production software applications

• Strong understanding of:

• Software engineering best practices

• System design and architecture

• CI/CD principles

• APIs, databases, and cloud-based systems
