Engineering Team Leader – Full Stack & Data Systems

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering FS Team Leader to lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and operating multiple complex, cloud-native systems.

The role combines people leadership, technical leadership, architecture, and hands-on development. Our systems are data-intensive, distributed, and operate at high scale, using modern Backend, Frontend, Database, and Kubernetes technologies.

AI-assisted development is an integral part of our engineering workflow, and the team leader is expected to actively use AI development tools and lead the team in adopting them effectively and responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Full Stack engineers.

• Own the team's systems end-to-end, from architecture and development through Production and continuous improvement.

• Lead the design and development of scalable, distributed, data-intensive systems.

• Drive architectural decisions around scalability, performance, availability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Remain hands-on in Frontend, Backend, Data, and infrastructure development.

• Lead the adoption of AI-assisted development tools across the team.

• Drive engineering standards around code quality, testing, security, observability, and operational readiness.

• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and System Engineering to drive planning, prioritization, and delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant Backend experience.

• 3+ years of technical team leadership experience.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

• Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and decision-making skills.

• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js and REST API design.

• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including production deployments and operations.

• Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud environments.

• Experience working with large-scale, high-throughput, or highly available production systems.

• Strong System Design and architectural decision-making skills.

• Consistent, hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering work.

• Experience with multiple database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or Elasticsearch.

• Experience with Kafka / Event Streaming, Microservices, or Event-Driven Architectures.
