About Us

At Eyeviation, we're building advanced training and assessment systems that combine simulation, AI, data, VR/XR, eye tracking, and human performance analytics.

We're looking for a backend-oriented Full Stack Engineer to join the IPASS team and own the product-services layer that connects our real-time simulator environment to cloud services, databases, web applications, analytics, and operational tools.

This role is best suited for an engineer who is strong on the backend, comfortable with frontend development, and capable of taking a feature from system design through deployment. You will work across APIs, data models, cloud services, simulator integrations, and React-based applications.

The role is expected to be approximately 70% backend / 30% frontend, depending on product needs.

What You'll Do

● Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for the product platform

● Develop services for authentication, authorization, trainee management, sessions, missions,

scenarios, results, and assessment workflows

● Design and maintain relational data models and backend architecture using SQL

-based elational databases

● Build reliable flows for ingesting simulator telemetry, eye-tracking data, session metadata,

and assessment results

● Define clear interfaces between simulator, backend, frontend, and data/AI systems

● Build and maintain web applications, dashboards, and internal tools using React

and TypeScript

● Support deployment, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, observability, and cloud environments.

● Work closely with Product, Data, Research, QA, and engineering teams.

● Take end-to-end ownership of features from technical design through production deployment

Requirements:

● 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful

backend ownership

● Strong backend development experience with Node.js and TypeScript

● Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs

● Strong experience with SQL-based relational databases, relational data modeling, and

database design

● Strong working knowledge of React, with the ability to independently build production

quality web interfaces

● Experience deploying or operating production applications on at least one major cloud

platform

● Understanding of authentication, authorization, application security, and service-to-service

communication

● Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering,

or a closely related engineering discipline, or highly relevant equivalent experience

● Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across backend, frontend, database, cloud,

and integration boundaries

● Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-structured software

● Independent, responsible, and comfortable taking full ownership of features and services

Advantages:

● Experience with WebSockets, streaming, event-driven systems, queues, or messaging systems

● Experience with high-volume telemetry, time-series data, or data-ingestion systems.

● Experience with Python / FastAPI

● Experience with Redis, caching layers, or NoSQL databases

● Experience building analytics dashboards or data-visualization applications

● Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, observability, or production monitoring

tools

● Experience with AI/ML products, data-science workflows, or model-serving integrations

● Experience with simulation, aviation, VR/XR, eye tracking, training systems, or defense

applications

● Experience working in products where reliability, traceability, and data integrity are important
