We are building the future of work with robotics. Bellboy Robotics is a VC-backed company developing intelligent mobile robots designed to automate complex, unstructured industrial and commercial environments. We are moving beyond rigid, lane-based automation to create robots that can truly perceive, reason, and act in the real world. Our mission is to make robots and people work as one team in real-world environments.
We are already deployed and commercially operating across multiple sites in world-class hotels throughout Europe, with live operations today and an active expansion roadmap across the region. Our seasoned team sits at the intersection of hardware, AI, and software.
The Role
We are looking for a Talented Applied Researcher to join our Applied AI team in Tel Aviv. You will drive the development of advanced perception and behavior models that allow Bellboy robots to interpret and act within complex, unstructured environments.
This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge research and real-world deployment. You will connect academic research with practical engineering—reading and critically evaluating papers, adapting promising methods, and taking models from early experiments to deployment on robots.
This is a hybrid role based in Tel Aviv, with 3 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
• Collect and curate data from deployed robots to improve model performance.
• Adapt and fine-tune foundation models, including vision-language models, vision-language-action models, and world models, for embodied robotics tasks.
• Read relevant academic papers and implement and evaluate methods with guidance from the team.
• Investigate perception and behavior challenges arising from real-world deployments.
• Contribute across the model lifecycle, from experimentation and evaluation to production integration.
• Work closely with researchers, robotics engineers, and software engineers to develop reliable models for robots operating in customer environments.
Requirements
• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Robotics, Deep Learning, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in applied AI, computer vision, or deep learning, gained in industry or academic research.
• A solid understanding of deep learning fundamentals, model architectures, training, and evaluation.
• Hands-on Python and PyTorch experience through research, industry work, or substantial projects.
• Experience training or fine-tuning computer vision or multimodal models.
• Ability to read academic papers, implement research ideas, and assess results through structured experiments.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn, collaborate, and solve practical problems.
