Junior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:

Kii.am is a development and manufacturing firm for handheld and desktop devices that include mechanics, electronics, plastics, metalworks and more. As our Mechanical Engineer, you will own the mechanical design of these products. Plastic and metal parts, enclosures and mechanisms from concept through prototype to production.

You'll be involved in the full development cycle of exciting new products, from initial concept through prototype to production readiness.

Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies in SolidWorks for new products and improve existing ones.

• Create prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate functionality and performance.

• Utilize 3D printing technology for rapid prototyping and design iteration.

• Select materials and manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining).

• Generate detailed manufacturing drawings (dimensions, tolerances, materials), BoMs and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with the team to brainstorm innovative solutions and overcome challenges.

• Communicate effectively with international customers and suppliers in English.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on R&D experience (not including student positions).

• A demonstrable passion for making and building things.

• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and Arduino or similar platforms, a huge advantage.

• Proficiency in SolidWorks - parts, assemblies and 2D drawings.

• A portfolio of personal projects showcasing your creativity and technical skills (photos of your projects are welcome!).

• Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
