Lab Technician – Gene Therapy R&D

Modulight Biotherapeutics is a drug-device company that aims to utilize optogenetics tools developed at the Weizmann Institute of Science to treat neurological conditions. We are expanding our R&D team and looking for a Lab Technician to join us immediately on a full-time basis.

You'll develop and perform a series of in vitro preclinical assays as part of our gene therapy program, working closely with our R&D team in the lab of Prof. Ofer Yizhar at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Responsibilities • Develop and execute molecular and cell-based assays to characterize and assess our gene therapy materials.

• Perform quantitative molecular assays (qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA) with strict attention to pipetting accuracy, assay controls, and run-to-run consistency.

• Maintain primary and proliferating cell cultures using aseptic/sterile technique, including passaging, cryopreservation, and contamination monitoring.

• Support preclinical assay development as part of Modulight's gene therapy pipeline.

• Work closely with Modulight's R&D team and collaborators in the Yizhar Lab. Requirements • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience with molecular and cell-based assays, including experimental design, implementation, and data analysis.

• Preferred experience with techniques such as ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR, flow cytometry, sterile primary and proliferating cell culture, histology, Western blot, etc.

• Available for immediate start.

• Detail-oriented, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced research environment.
