Mechanical Design Engineer

Eshed Group is seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join the Assembly Department of a premier defense organization in the Central District.

In this role, you will lead the full scope of tooling, fixtures, and assembly engineering. You will bridge the gap between design and production by developing manufacturing aids, jigs, lifting tools, and inspection equipment, while optimizing assembly workflows and resolving shop-floor engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities: • Tooling & Fixture Design: Lead the design of manufacturing tools, fixtures, molds, lifting/transportation gear, measurement equipment, and assembly aids across various domains (CNC machining, composite materials, system integration, etc.).

• Process Documentation: Author and manage detailed manufacturing process files (תיקי תהליך) and assembly routing procedures for parts and mechanisms.

• Engineering Changes & Optimization: Implement engineering changes (ECO) on existing tooling setups and drive continuous process improvements on the assembly line.

• Subcontractor Management: Define, write, and control technical specifications for tooling and fixture design and manufacturing executed by external subcontractors (קב"מ).

• Shop-Floor Engineering Support: Provide ongoing technical support to assembly engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing anomalies and process bottlenecks.

Job Requirements: • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory.

• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience leading mechanical manufacturing and assembly processes (NPI / Assembly Manufacturing Engineering) – Mandatory.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and 3D models – Mandatory.

• Hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks – Mandatory.

• Good working proficiency in English.

• Strong self-discipline, high personal accountability, excellent multitasking skills in a dynamic environment, outstanding interpersonal communication, and a strong collaborative team player. Preferred Qualifications: • Practical experience working with high-pressure systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, or piping.

• Hands-on proficiency with Siemens NX CAD software.
