About the Role We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Mechanical Engineering Manager & R&D Squad Lead to take full ownership of the mechanical engineering domain while leading a multidisciplinary R&D squad.

This is a key technical leadership role combining deep mechanical engineering expertise, system-level ownership, and multidisciplinary execution.

You will serve as Scopio’s mechanical engineering technical authority, owning complex electro-mechanical systems throughout their full lifecycle—from concept and detailed design through integration, V&V, transfer to production, and ongoing engineering support.

In parallel, you will lead the day-to-day execution of a multidisciplinary R&D squad, working closely with hardware, software, algorithms, data, and system engineers to drive priorities, execution, and delivery of project milestones.

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical depth with leadership and execution—an experienced mechanical engineer who can independently make technical decisions, troubleshoot complex systems hands-on, and drive multidisciplinary projects from concept to successful delivery. What You’ll Be Doing • Own the Mechanical Engineering Domain – Serve as the company’s mechanical engineering focal point and technical authority, driving technical decisions and solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

• Lead Electro-Mechanical Development – Design and provide technical leadership for complex electro-mechanical mechanisms.

• Drive Development from Concept to Production – Own mechanical development from requirements and concept through CAD design, prototyping, integration, V&V, transfer to production, and continuous engineering support.

• Lead System Integration – Define and manage mechanical-electrical interfaces and work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure successful system integration.

• Lead Root Cause Investigations – Diagnose mechanical and system-level failures, perform Root Cause Analysis, and drive effective engineering solutions and ECOs.

• Own V&V and Reliability Activities – Plan and execute V&V and reliability testing, including the design and development of dedicated test jigs and setups.

• Lead a Multidisciplinary R&D Squad – Drive day-to-day squad execution, priorities, backlog, dependencies, and alignment across hardware, software, algorithms, data, and system engineering.

• Own Project Delivery – Translate technical goals into executable plans, track milestones, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure timely delivery.

• Stay Hands-On – Work directly with prototypes, complex assemblies, laboratory setups, and testing equipment to troubleshoot and solve engineering challenges. What We’re Looking For • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized academic institution.

• Significant hands-on industry experience in mechanical R&D and the design of complex multidisciplinary devices.

• Proven experience designing complex electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems.

• Previous leadership experience as a Team Lead, Group Lead, Squad Lead, or Tech Lead, with responsibility for driving tasks, priorities, and workflows in a multidisciplinary environment.

• Proven experience in the Medical Device industry.

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, specifically machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing.

• Strong system-level thinking and demonstrated ability to define and navigate multidisciplinary interfaces, working closely with HW, SW, algorithms, system engineering, and QA.

• Hands-on experience with V&V, reliability testing, test-jig development, Root Cause Analysis, and ECO implementation.

• Proven ability to operate independently as the company’s mechanical engineering technical authority, taking ownership, making technical decisions, and solving complex engineering problems.

• Strong hands-on approach, with experience in laboratory work, complex assemblies, and troubleshooting.

• Strong project execution skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage dependencies, and drive multidisciplinary teams toward project milestones.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
