NMR Service Laboratory Manager | Tel Aviv University

Tel Aviv University is seeking an experienced professional to manage its NMR Service Laboratory, which operates five Bruker spectrometers supporting researchers and graduate students across the University, as well as external academic and industry users. The facility supports research and applications in organic and physical chemistry, magnetic resonance imaging, and solid-state materials.

Key Responsibilities • Operate, maintain, and develop NMR instrumentation, software, hardware, and laboratory infrastructure.

• Provide expert guidance, training, and technical support to a diverse community of researchers and graduate students.

• Collaborate with researchers in organic and physical chemistry on molecular characterization, data acquisition, spectral interpretation, and structural analysis.

• Customize instrumentation and experimental setups to meet research needs, in collaboration with Bruker when required.

• Develop and implement pulse sequences and experimental methods.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot NMR instrumentation and related systems.

• Contribute to research projects in collaboration with faculty members and researchers, as appropriate.

Requirements • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, or a related field; PhD is an advantage.

• Proven experience and expertise in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy – required.

• Proven experience working with Bruker NMR systems and TopSpin software.

• Experience with solid-state NMR – an advantage.

• Experience in NMR instrumentation troubleshooting – an advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Excellent service orientation.

• Excellent Hebrew and high-level English proficiency.

• Willingness to work additional hours as needed.

Reporting to: NMR Laboratory Manager and Academic Head of the NMR Facility.
