About the Job Impala-ICT is looking for a proactive and experienced Application DBA to own, design, and optimize the data layer for our high-impact systems. In this role, you will join a dynamic R&D team responsible for architecting high-performance databases for new initiatives while maintaining the reliability and health of our existing platforms. If you are passionate about schema design, query optimization, automated deployments, and building robust database architectures, we want you on our team.

From designing database architecture for brand-new systems from scratch to establishing automated CI/CD migration pipelines, your contributions will directly impact system reliability and scalability across our global deployments.

What You'll Be Doing • Greenfield Architecture: Collaborate with developers and product managers to design and implement efficient schemas, data-access patterns, and DB architecture for new systems from scratch.

• Core Development: Design, write, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, and views, while analyzing and optimizing query performance.

• Monitoring & Health: Proactively monitor database health, performance, and availability—setting up alerting, tracking key metrics, and resolving performance bottlenecks independently.

• Automation & CI/CD: Build and maintain database CI/CD pipelines (schema migrations, version control, automated deployments) and develop internal tools to automate database operations.

• Security & Resilience: Define, implement, and maintain database backup/restore strategies and robust data-security policies. What You'll Bring • Hands-on Experience: At least 4+ years of professional experience in database engineering, development, and administration working with large-scale databases.

• Database Expertise: Proven experience with Oracle DB or other enterprise SQL relational databases, particularly in on-premises environments.

• Advanced SQL / T-SQL: Strong SQL/T-SQL skills with deep, hands-on experience writing and tuning stored procedures, functions, and complex queries.

• Database DevOps & Automation: Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines for database migrations, version control, and scripting operational tasks.

• System Operations & Security: Proven capability in defining backup/restore protocols, setting up security policies, and managing database health metrics.

• Proactive Mindset: Ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve performance issues in high-load environments.

• Communication: Strong English skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, multicultural R&D teams.

Experience We Consider a Plus • Cloud & Hybrid Deployments: Exposure to cloud-hosted databases or hybrid cloud/on-prem infrastructure.

• NoSQL Databases: Familiarity with NoSQL or caching solutions (e.g., Redis, MongoDB).

• Scripting: Experience using Python, PowerShell, or Bash for database administration and automation scripts.
