Payments Operations Specialist

We’re looking for a Payments Operations Specialist to join Okoora’s Operations team and take an active role in the day-to-day execution of payments, banking operations, and financial controls.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong understanding of banking or payments, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to take ownership of sensitive financial processes from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the day-to-day processing of customer payments and incoming funds, ensuring accurate and timely execution.

• Review and validate payment instructions, including beneficiary details, bank account information, transaction amounts, and supporting documentation.

• Execute domestic and international payments through Israeli and international banking systems.

• Match incoming funds to customer transactions and ensure accurate allocation and recording within Okoora’s systems.

• Monitor payment flows and investigate exceptions, discrepancies, delays, and payment-related issues.

• Perform daily reconciliations, operational controls, and checks to maintain accurate financial records.

• Liaise with banks in Israel and abroad regarding payment investigations, confirmations, returns, and operational inquiries.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payments, reconciliations, and investigations.

• Work closely with Support, Compliance, Product, and other internal teams to resolve operational matters.

• Take ownership of sensitive financial processes involving customer funds and company bank accounts, while following internal procedures and controls.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in banking, payments, financial operations, or a similar field.

• Good understanding of bank transfers and payment processes.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of control and precision.

• Good English reading and writing skills.

• Good working knowledge of Excel.

• Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven operational environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in FX, international payments, trade finance, or a relevant banking department.

• Familiarity with SWIFT and international bank transfers.

• Experience working with banking systems.

• Previous experience in a bank, fintech, payments company, or other financial institution.

Working days and hours

This is a Monday to Friday position, aligned with banking and financial market activity.

• Monday to Thursday: 08:00-17:00

• Friday: 08:00-14:00
