Alma, a Sisram Medical company, is a global leader in medical-aesthetic technologies, with over 25 years of experience in energy-based devices (EBD). Over the years, Alma has evolved into an integrated aesthetic and wellness ecosystem that combines medical devices, injectables, diagnostics, and personalized skincare. The company operates in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment, merging advanced technology with deep clinical understanding to create holistic solutions for aesthetic clinics. Alma’s headquarters are in Caesarea, Israel, with business operations in more than 100 countries worldwide. We are looking for a Physics R&D Student to join our Physics team within the R&D organization and take part in the development of advanced medical technologies involving lasers, optics, sensing, imaging and intelligent treatment systems. The role combines hands-on laboratory work, experimental design, system characterization, data analysis and technical support for ongoing and future R&D projects. The student will work closely with physicists, engineers and other R&D functions and will gain exposure to different stages of the development of advanced energy-based medical devices. Key Responsibilities: • Participate in innovative R&D projects combining Energy-Based Devices (EBD), artificial intelligence and advanced medical technologies. • Plan, execute and document laboratory experiments. • Perform characterization and performance evaluation of optical and electro-optical systems. • Work with laser systems, optical components, light sources, detectors, cameras and measurement equipment. • Collect, process and analyze experimental data. • Support development activities related to laser and optical systems. • Perform comparative testing of applicators, optical components and system configurations. • Build and operate experimental setups and Proof-of-Concept systems. • Support troubleshooting, verification activities and system performance investigations. • Prepare technical reports, experimental summaries and presentations. • Collaborate with Physics, Engineering, V&V and other R&D teams.

Requirements: • B.Sc. student in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electro-Optics or a related field, preferably in the third year of studies or above; or an M.Sc. student in a relevant field. • At least one year remaining until graduation. • Strong background in physics, optics and/or lasers. • Hands-on laboratory capabilities. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and learn new technologies. • Good written and spoken English. • Availability for at least 2–3 working days per week. Advantages: • Previous experience working with laser or optical systems. • Experience with Python, MATLAB or similar data-analysis tools. • Experience in image processing or computer vision. • Experience with laboratory measurement equipment. • Previous academic research or laboratory experience. • Experience with Zemax simulations.
