About The Role

As a Platform Architect at Rhino, you will be a senior and influential technical contributor and a key partner to the technology leadership in shaping the vision and key architectural decisions for our platform.

You will define and evolve the architectural vision across our software, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and deployment environments, ensuring that engineering teams build scalable, secure, and cohesive solutions that support both current product needs and future growth. This role combines deep technical leadership with strategic influence. Internally, you will work closely with engineering teams and technical leaders to guide architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and help solve our most challenging technical problems. Externally, you will represent Rhino's technical architecture to customers and technology partners, helping translate product vision into technical capabilities and informing our platform development strategy with key technology partner and customer insights. Reporting directly to the VP of R&D, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering and executive leadership while remaining actively involved in designing and implementing critical parts of the platform.

This role is based in Tel Aviv, Israel, and involves close collaboration with colleagues and customers across the US and Europe. You should be comfortable working across time zones, including regularly taking meetings at evening hours and occasional (expected up to 1 week a month) international travel to engage directly with customers and partners. While this is not a sales nor solution architecture role, you must be comfortable traveling to act as a senior technical authority, participate in focused "tiger teams," and lead important projects at customer sites when needed to materially affect Rhino's success.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture: Define and evolve Rhino's technical architecture across software, infrastructure, data, and deployment platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

• Technical Strategy: Partner with the VP of R&D and engineering leadership to shape the long-term technical direction of the platform and align it with product and business goals.

• Architectural Leadership: Guide engineering teams on major technical decisions, establish architectural principles and standards, and lead design reviews across the organization.

• Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product, Solutions and Customer Success to ensure technical capabilities meet customer needs and inform future product direction.

• Technical Evangelism: Represent Rhino's technical vision internally and externally, engaging with customers, partners, and executive stakeholders as a trusted technical authority.

What You Bring

• Extensive Experience: 10+ years building and architecting complex software products, with experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Architect.

• Architectural Expertise: Proven ability to design scalable, distributed systems and develop long-term technical strategies across multiple engineering teams.

• Technical Leadership: A track record of influencing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving architectural excellence without direct managerial authority.

• Strong Communicator: Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, executives, customers, and partners, both verbally and in writing.

• Nice to Have: Experience building tech platforms, flexible compute services, and AI/ML-enabled products. Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), regulated data environments, or hybrid cloud and on-premises architectures.
