Our goal is simple but ambitious: make healthcare more proactive, personal, and accessible for millions of patients. About the Role This role spans our entire product stack. From React frontends to Node.js microservices, event-driven backends, and AI systems, you will build end-to-end features across Popai's product suite. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and AI teams to deliver high-impact solutions from concept to production. What You'll Do • Build & Own: Develop end-to-end features across our React frontends, Chrome extension (Analyst Copilot, Management Portal, real-time conversation widget), and Node.js/Express backend services. • Backend & API Design: Design and implement RESTful APIs, background workers, and data models using Express.js, Prisma, and PostgreSQL. • Event-Driven Architectures: Build asynchronous, event-driven systems using NATS to process signals and coordinate between services. • Real-Time Features: Implement WebSocket/Socket.io systems for live detection workflows and real-time user interactions. • AI Integration: Embed AI capabilities into production systems, collaborating with our AI engineers on LangChain/LangGraph-powered agents. • Data & Observability: Manage database schemas and queries across PostgreSQL and Redis, while integrating observability tools (Pino, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus). • Engineering Culture: Contribute to best engineering practices, testing, and continuous delivery as we scale.

Requirements: What We're Looking For • Experience: 5+ years of full-stack development experience with strong backend depth in Node.js and TypeScript. • Core Tech: Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, Express.js, React, and TypeScript. • System Design: Solid understanding of event-driven architectures, real-time communication (WebSockets), and distributed systems concepts (idempotency, fault tolerance). • DevOps & Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (GCP preferred). • Mindset: A builder’s ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment. Nice to Have • Hands-on experience integrating LLM/AI services into web products. • Experience with message brokers like NATS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub. • Background in multi-tenant enterprise SaaS applications. • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native monitoring, or Python/FastAPI services.
