About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Architect to define and evolve the technical architecture of a next-generation enterprise software platform. This individual will play a critical role in shaping platform strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance across a complex, distributed environment.

This is a highly influential technical leadership position requiring a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. You will work across engineering, research, product, and customer-facing teams to drive architectural decisions, establish technical standards, and guide the adoption of emerging technologies.

The role involves architecture across agentic systems, speech, and GenAI capabilities, and requires strong knowledge in these areas. We should also update the experience requirements to include hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks in production environments, MCPs, and tool calling. Experience with speech technologies would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the long-term technical architecture for a large-scale, multi-tenant platform.

• Drive architectural decisions related to platform evolution, integration strategies, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and third-party solutions, making recommendations based on technical and business impact.

• Establish architectural standards, governance processes, and engineering best practices across multiple teams.

• Design systems that balance performance, cost efficiency, resilience, maintainability, and security.

• Partner closely with engineering, research, product, and business stakeholders to align technical direction with company objectives.

• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and architectural explorations to reduce technical risk and validate future investments.

• Define approaches for data management, privacy, compliance, and long-term platform sustainability.

• Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders, helping elevate architectural rigor across the organization.

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to executive leadership and strategic customers.

Qualifications Required

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a Principal, Staff, Lead Architect, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.

• Demonstrated success designing and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments.

• Strong experience with cloud-native architectures and modern platform technologies.

• Deep understanding of service-oriented and event-driven systems, integration patterns, and platform design principles.

• Proven ability to make architecture decisions that balance scalability, performance, security, reliability, and cost.

• Strong software development skills with the ability to remain hands-on when required.

• Experience establishing engineering standards, governance models, and architectural review processes.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

• Experience working in high-growth SaaS or enterprise software organizations.

• Background building platforms that incorporate advanced automation, data-driven intelligence, or emerging technologies.

• Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and operational excellence practices.

• Experience with enterprise security, compliance, and data governance requirements.

• Exposure to global-scale, customer-facing platforms.

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, or a related field.
