Python Maker / Python Engineer

Tondo Smart is a publicly traded Israeli technology company developing advanced smart-infrastructure solutions that combine software, hardware, IoT, edge devices, sensors, communications, and AI.

Our technology supports municipalities, security organizations, and enterprises with infrastructure monitoring, anomaly detection, electricity and cable theft detection, operational intelligence, and drone detection.

We are looking for a hands-on Python Engineer who enjoys building real-world, end-to-end solutions and connecting software with devices and physical infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Build Python solutions from prototyping to deployment.

• Develop and maintain production-grade Python code.

• Work with Embedded systems, IoT devices, sensors, edge devices, and hardware.

• Integrate APIs, backend services, devices, and physical infrastructure.

• Work with time-series, sensor, and operational data.

• Collaborate with Product, Backend, Hardware, IoT, and Operations teams.

• Present technical solutions and work directly with customers and partners in Israel and North America.

Must Have

• 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience in production

• Practical experience with Embedded systems, IoT, and hardware integration.

• Experience with APIs, system integration, testing, debugging, Git, and code quality.

• A Maker mindset — the ability to build, test, connect, troubleshoot, and deliver.

• Excellent spoken and written English.

• Strong communication skills and confidence working with customers and partners.

• Flexibility to support North American activity, including two evening meetings per week and occasional weekend availability when required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI or Machine Learning.

• Experience with LLMs, prompting, evaluation, or fine-tuning.

• Experience with Linux, networking, communication protocols, or real-time systems.

• Experience with Computer Vision, object detection, sensor data, or drone detection.

• Experience in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment.
