R&D Mechanical Engineer

We are developing energy-absorbing seating systems for the next generation of aviation - advanced safety products designed to protect occupants under demanding impact and load conditions.

Our products are safety-critical systems with a direct impact on occupant safety. The role combines challenging mechanical engineering and product development with a high level of responsibility, precision, and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be involved throughout the development process, from initial concepts and mechanical design through engineering analysis, testing, qualification, and production.

Position Overview

• We are looking for a Mechanical R&D Engineer to join our engineering and development team.

• The role involves the design, development, integration, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and components, from initial concept through final product.

• The position requires strong technical judgment, hands-on problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic R&D environment.

• The role includes taking direct ownership of high-level, complex testing programs, including leading test campaigns abroad.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering - required.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and development - required.

• Hands-on experience throughout the product development cycle, from initial design through manufacturing and testing.

• Strong technical understanding and practical problem-solving skills.

• Strong proficiency in CAD design - required.

• Experience with Creo - a significant advantage.

• High level of written and spoken English - required.

• Strong technical writing skills in both Hebrew and English - required.

• Good understanding of manufacturing, machining, and assembly processes.

• Experience planning, executing, and leading complex test campaigns, including hands-on experience managing testing abroad - an advantage.

Technical Knowledge & Experience

• Mechanical design with strong engineering judgment, creativity, and out-of-the-box problem-solving.

• Understanding of linear and nonlinear structural analysis.

• Good knowledge of metals and their mechanical properties.

• Familiarity with composite materials - an advantage.

• Good understanding of manufacturing and machining processes and their impact on mechanical design.

• Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry - an advantage.

• Ability to read, understand, and work with engineering specifications, standards, and technical documentation.

• Strong research skills and the ability to independently investigate technical subjects and develop practical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.

• Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and manufacturing documentation.

• Select materials and manufacturing processes based on product requirements and performance criteria.

• Perform and support engineering calculations, structural analyses, and design evaluations.

• Identify, investigate, and resolve engineering issues throughout development and production.

• Work closely with manufacturing, suppliers, testing teams, and other engineering disciplines.

• Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation activities.

• Lead complex design validation and qualification test campaigns abroad, including test setup, coordination with external laboratories, execution, and real-time technical decision-making.

• Implement design changes and continuous improvements to existing products.

• Follow products through the complete development cycle - from concept and design to testing, qualification, and production.

• Prepare engineering documentation, specifications, reports, and technical documentation in English.
