Research Budget Analyst

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is seeking a Research Budget Analyst to join the Research & Development Authority and support the financial management of research projects.

This role combines budget planning and control, financial reporting, and ongoing collaboration with researchers and funding organizations throughout the research project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage research budgets in accordance with grant agreements and funding requirements.

• Assist researchers in preparing budget proposals for funding bodies and provide guidance prior to budget activation.

• Review and approve budget-related requests in accordance with University policies and funding agency guidelines.

• Monitor research expenditures, appointments, travel expenses, and overall budget utilization.

• Identify and follow up on budget variances and deficits.

• Collect and review financial data and supporting documentation for financial reporting.

• Prepare invoices and financial reports for funding agencies and support external audits.

• Monitor accounts receivable and payments from funding organizations in accordance with contractual terms.

• Manage the financial closure of completed research projects.

• Collaborate with researchers, finance teams, and other professional units across the University.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or a combined program with a relevant financial discipline.

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Good command of English.

• Experience working with budgeting and financial systems – an advantage.
