Who we are looking for

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of an advanced robotic platform for ophthalmic surgery.

The role involves designing, developing, and testing precision mechanisms and test systems as part of a complex, multidisciplinary medical device.

You will collaborate closely with engineers across multiple disciplines and take ownership throughout the development lifecycle—from initial concept and detailed design through prototyping, integration, testing, and transfer to production

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanisms, assemblies, and test rigs throughout the product development lifecycle—from concept generation and detailed design through prototyping, integration, verification, and transfer to production.

• Design mechanical solutions incorporating motors, sensors, bearings, gears, and other precision components.

• Develop and execute mechanical tests and experiments to evaluate design performance and verify engineering requirements.

• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, test protocols, reports, and engineering change documentation.

• Collaborate closely with systems, software, electronics, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to develop multidisciplinary solutions.

• Support hands-on prototype assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing.

• Identify mechanical design challenges and develop practical, data-driven solutions.

• Contribute to design reviews and the continuous improvement of products and development processes.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.

• Demonstrated experience designing complex mechanisms, assemblies, or electromechanical systems.

• Experience designing multidisciplinary systems – an advantage.

• Experience with mechanisms incorporating motors, sensors, bearing systems, gears, and/or precision components – an advantage.

• Experience designing test rigs, fixtures, or experimental setups – an advantage.

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.

• Familiarity with PLM systems and ECO/ECN processes – an advantage.

• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles – an advantage.

• Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Hands-on approach and ability to work effectively with prototypes and hardware.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and execution.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Independent learner with a proactive mindset.

• Fluent in Hebrew and English.
