Security Researcher and Engineer

About Botanica Botanica Software Labs is a software R&D and consulting company based in Tel Aviv. We work with technology companies on difficult engineering and security problems, usually where deep technical expertise is required.

Our projects span security research, reverse engineering, operating systems, static analysis, low-level development, and production R&D.

The Role We’re looking for a strong Security Researcher & Engineer to join our team.

You’ll work on a variety of security and systems projects for leading technology companies. Depending on the project, this might include reverse engineering software, researching vulnerabilities, building security tools, analyzing operating-system behavior, or developing production-grade security systems.

Examples of the kind of work we do include AI internals eBPF-based monitoring, static analysis engines, reverse engineering of complex applications, hooking and instrumentation frameworks, and low-level security research across Windows, Linux, embedded systems, and other platforms.

What You’ll Do • Conduct security research and vulnerability analysis.

• Reverse engineer complex software, binaries, and firmware.

• Build tools and proof-of-concepts for security research.

• Research AI systems, AI agents, model integrations, and their underlying architecture and behavior.

• Work with operating-system internals, low-level APIs, and system components.

• Design and implement security mechanisms, monitoring systems, and analysis tools.

• Write production-quality code in languages such as C/C++, Rust, Go, and Python.

• Work directly with experienced engineers and security researchers on client projects.

• Clearly document and communicate technical findings.

What We’re Looking For This is primarily a senior position. We’re generally looking for candidates with 8+ years of relevant experience, although we may consider exceptional candidates with 4+ years for a more junior track.

You should have strong experience in several of the following areas:

• Security research and vulnerability research.

• Reverse engineering using tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, or similar.

• Operating-system internals.

• C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, or Assembly.

• Exploit development or offensive security.

• Static or dynamic program analysis.

• Network protocols and application security.

• Low-level debugging and systems programming.

Experience with AI internals, cloud security, containers, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, or embedded systems is an advantage.

A formal degree is welcome but not required if you have strong relevant experience.

Location Hybrid position in Tel Aviv-Yafo.
