Security Researcher

Role Description The Security Researcher is a full-time position based in the Tel Aviv District, Israel, with flexibility to work from home part of the time. In this role, the Security Researcher will investigate emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques across applications, systems, and networks. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing malware analysis, reverse engineering binaries and software, and conducting in-depth security research to identify and validate potential risks. The Security Researcher will collaborate with engineering and security teams to design mitigations, support secure product development, and contribute to internal knowledge bases, reports, and technical documentation. The role also involves staying current with the cybersecurity landscape, participating in internal discussions and reviews, and helping shape the organization’s defensive and offensive security capabilities.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Security Research and general Cybersecurity, including understanding of threat landscapes, vulnerabilities, and defensive strategies.

• Candidates should possess expertise in Application Security, such as secure coding practices, common application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10), and security testing methodologies.

• Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Malware Analysis, including static and dynamic analysis, sandboxing, and behavioral profiling of malicious code.

• Candidates should possess proficiency in Reverse Engineering, using tools such as IDA, Ghidra, or similar, and be comfortable analyzing binaries, protocols, and obfuscated code.

• Relevant skills and qualifications: experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++), familiarity with operating systems internals (Windows, Linux), and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Relevant qualifications: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior work in security research, red teaming, or incident response is an advantage.

• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, communicate complex technical topics clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
