Senior AI Applications Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, architect, and scale the core software foundation powering our next-gen GenAI Co-Pilot and Decision Flows. Working hand-in-hand with our Data Science team, you will take full ownership of critical components, bridge the gap between advanced AI models and production systems, and deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions that drive real-world impact. As a Cognyter, you will: • Build platforms that consolidate complex data to help analysts make critical, real-world decisions. • Partner with AI Data Science and Product teams to deliver sophisticated investigative tools. • Ensure high-quality standards for software that directly impact global safety and investigative outcomes. • Mentor engineers and serve as a go‑to person for problem solving. • Join a team that fears no technology and constantly tests the boundaries of investigative power.

Requirements: For this mission, you’ll need: • At least 6 years’ hands-on development experience, with proven experience developing in Java . • Hands-on experience building microservices in cloud (preferably GCP/AWS/Azure ) environments using cloud native technologies (such as: Kubernetes, Docker ). • Experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ , or similar. • Experience with both relational (preferably PostgreSQL/MySQL ) and NoSQL databases (such as: MongoDB ). • Experience with building products integrating AI/ML engines and agentic workflows (hands-on experience - an advantage). • Proven experience owning high-velocity production, building resilient systems that ship fast while maintaining absolute stability. • Good interpersonal and communication skills (working with global teams – an advantage). • BSc in Software Engineering, or equivalent (an advantage).
