Who we are looking for We are looking for a Senior Clinical Application Engineer to serve as the clinical face of ForSight's robotic surgical system in the field. The Senior Clinical Application Engineer trains, demonstrates, and supervises surgeons and operating-room staff performing robotic-assisted ophthalmic procedures, supports clinical sessions on site, and brings structured clinical insights back to the Product and R&D teams. The role involves frequent international travel to clinical and training sites. Responsibilities • Train and certify surgeons, nurses, and OR staff on the use of the robotic system, from didactic and wet-lab/simulator training through supervised live procedures. • Provide on-site clinical and technical support during surgical procedures, including system setup, draping, intra-operative guidance, and troubleshooting. • Demonstrate the system to surgeons, clinical teams, and KOLs at clinical sites, training centers, and conferences. • Plan and execute site onboarding: readiness assessments, OR integration, team training plans, and sign-off criteria for independent use. • Develop and maintain training materials, curricula, and proficiency assessments in collaboration with Product/HFE, R&D, and Regulatory teams. • Collect, synthesize, and report structured clinical feedback and usability observations from the field to product teams. • Support clinical studies: case observation, protocol adherence support, and coordination with clinical/regulatory staff. • Document and report field events, complaints, and device observations per the company's quality system and regulatory requirements. • Build and maintain trusted relationships with surgeons, clinical staff, and site stakeholders. Requirements • BSc/BA or equivalent in engineering, life sciences, health professions, social sciences, or a related field. Candidates from varied backgrounds (engineering, nursing, optometry, clinical research, medical-device applications) are welcome. • 6+ years in a clinical, surgical, or medical-device field role: clinical applications, clinical specialist, product management, OR nursing, surgical support, or similar. • Hands-on experience in an operating-room or clinical environment — strong advantage. • Experience with surgical robotics, ophthalmic devices, or capital medical equipment — advantage. • Experience training or educating healthcare professionals — advantage. • Fluent English (spoken and written) — must. Additional languages — advantage. • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally at high frequency. Working Conditions • International travel approximately 20–40% of the time. • Work in operating-room environments; adherence to hospital, sterility, and site-specific requirements. • Flexible working hours aligned with surgical schedules and multiple time zones.
