המשרה המקורית · נשמר לעיוןAn innovative, well-funded Deep-Tech growth company tackling one of the most critical challenges in next-generation AI infrastructure, Data Centers, and High-Performance Computing, is seeking an experienced Experimental Scientist.
By bridging advanced optics, semiconductor processes, and precision packaging, our multidisciplinary team transforms disruptive scientific concepts into scalable, high-volume production technologies.
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, highly analytical Senior Experimental Scientist to join our multidisciplinary R&D team. In this pivotal role, you will design and execute complex optical and physical experiments, lead root-cause investigations, and bridge the gap between early-stage physics research and scalable manufacturing.
This role requires deep scientific curiosity, a strong "hands-on" lab presence, and the leadership ability to rally cross-functional task forces toward key technical milestones in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Experimental Design & Execution: Plan, build, and execute complex optical, physical, and opto-mechanical experiments to validate and optimize novel photonic assemblies and packaging processes.
• Diagnostics & Root-Cause Analysis: Conduct system-level diagnostics, troubleshooting, and failure analysis (RCA); define mitigation plans, robust system calibration protocols, and product transfer to manufacturing.
• Lab Setup & Automation: Develop, implement, and maintain custom experimental setups, measurement techniques, and automated test environments.
• Task Force Leadership: Lead small, cross-functional task forces (optics, materials, process engineering, algorithms) to solve critical R&D and process challenges.
• Data & KPI Tracking: Analyze experimental data, define data-driven KPIs, and track technical progress in a results-oriented environment.
• Documentation & Operations: Operate advanced laboratory instruments and optical test systems; document procedures, results, and conclusions systematically.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in experimental research and system engineering, preferably within optics, photonics, or the semiconductor industry.
• Lab Expertise: Proven experience designing, building, and interpreting complex physical or optical experimental setups directly on the bench.
• Cross-Functional Influence: Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and align multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical Mindset: Systematic, methodical approach to complex technical troubleshooting with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude.
• Environment: Comfort working under tight timelines in a fast-evolving, high-growth environment.
Ways to Stand Out
• Direct hands-on experience with fiber optics, optical coupling, or photonic packaging (Silicon Photonics).
• Background in semiconductor inspection/metrology equipment, precision alignment, or micro-optical assembly.
• Experience in both corporate R&D (e.g., semiconductor capital equipment) and fast-paced startup environments.
• Practical experience with optical simulation, automation, or data analysis tools (e.g., Zemax, Python, MATLAB).
