Senior Mechanical Engineer - 777

Microtech Medical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of implant manufacturing tools, equipment, and processes.

The role combines high-precision mechanical design with hands-on engineering and strong analytical skills, supporting development from concept and detailed design through fabrication, verification, transfer to production and qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-accuracy mechanical components, diverse assemblies, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment for implant production and R&D.

• Translate product and process requirements into mechanical concepts, detailed designs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.

• Perform tolerance stack-ups, define GD&T, and select materials and manufacturing processes to ensure repeatability, reliability, and manufacturability.

• Lead design reviews, prototyping, testing, risk identification, and root-cause investigations.

• Develop and improve manufacturing tools and processes in collaboration with production, quality, and R&D teams.

• Manage technical communication with external suppliers and manufacturers, including design clarification and delivery follow-up.

• Support equipment qualification, process validation, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and transfer to production.

Qualifications

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

• More than 10 years of proven experience in high-precision mechanical design and product or equipment development.

• Proficiency in 3D CAD and detailed drawing preparation; SolidWorks experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, precision machining, materials, surface treatments, and assembly methods.

• Demonstrated hands-on ability in prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and working with suppliers.

• Systematic and independent approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical results clearly.

• Advantage: Experience in medical-device development under ISO 13485 and design-control environments.

• Advantage: Experience with catheter-based systems and Class III implantable medical devices.

• Advantage: Experience designing precision machinery, fixtures, and tooling for production support.
