About The Company
Developing a silicon-compatible photonics platform that integrates high-speed, low-energy electro-optic performance into standard silicon manufacturing. This proprietary technology targets high-bandwidth optical modulation for data centers and telecom, with future use in quantum and RF photonics.
Job Description
Join the team as a Simulation Engineer, one of our first hires, to lead the design, simulation, and validation of high-speed electro-optic modulators and PIC building blocks. You will drive device concepts from physics and simulation through to manufacturable, scalable designs.
Responsibilities:
Optimize high-speed EO modulators (MZM, ring, phase shifters) and passive photonic structures.
Execute simulation workflows and model key metrics (EO bandwidth, Vπ, RF/optical loss, impedance).
Partner with layout engineers to translate designs into foundry-compatible PIC layouts.
Support characterization and correlate lab data with models to drive design iterations.
Requirements:
M.Sc./Ph.D. in Photonics, EE, or Physics.
Proficiency in Lumerical or similar photonic simulation tools.
Experience with high-speed EO modulation, waveguides, and foundry PDKs.
Ability to work with layout engineers and foundry PDK constraints.
Preferred:
Traveling-wave modulator or RF photonics experience
HFSS, COMSOL, ADS, Spectre, Sentaurus, Silvaco, or similar tool experience
High-speed EO/RF characterization experience: VNA, S-parameters, high-speed oscilloscope, probe stations
Experience with compact-model extraction and photonic circuit simulation
Prior PIC tape-out experience
