We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join our journey. 🚀

SkyGini is a fast-moving travel-tech company building digital products that help people and businesses search, book, and manage travel smarter.

We’re looking for a highly capable, AI-native engineer who can take ownership of complex problems and drive them all the way from an initial idea to production.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with meaningful technical influence and no people-management responsibilities. You’ll work across the stack, challenge assumptions, contribute to important product and architectural decisions, and help raise the engineering bar through the quality of your thinking and execution.

We care less about whether you already know every technology in our stack. We care deeply about whether you can understand complex systems, learn quickly, make good decisions, and consistently ship excellent software.

If you combine strong engineering fundamentals with product thinking, resourcefulness, speed, and genuine end-to-end ownership—this role is for you.

What you’ll do

• Own complex initiatives end-to-end - understand the business problem, shape the solution, make the technical decisions, build it, ship it, and take responsibility for how it performs in production.

• Build across the stack - work on backend services, customer-facing products, internal platforms, data flows, integrations, infrastructure, and whatever else is needed to move the product forward.

• Use AI as a force multiplier - work fluently with modern AI development tools to explore, build, debug, and deliver faster, while carefully reviewing, testing, and fully understanding everything you ship.

• Influence technical direction - bring strong opinions backed by clear reasoning, challenge existing assumptions, and help the team make better architectural and engineering decisions.

• Raise the engineering bar - improve code quality, system design, reliability, testing, observability, and development practices through your own work and your collaboration with others.

• Think beyond the ticket - identify missing requirements, edge cases, risks, and better solutions without waiting for someone else to point them out.

• Connect engineering to the business - understand why we are building something, make practical trade-offs, and optimize for real customer and business outcomes.

• Collaborate closely - communicate clearly with engineers, product, design, operations, and leadership, including when you disagree or believe there is a better path.

What you should bring

• A consistently high technical level — strong software-engineering fundamentals and a track record of building and operating complex production systems.

• Proven end-to-end ownership — you have personally taken meaningful products or systems from ambiguity to successful production use.

• Strong product and business judgment — you understand that great engineering is measured by the problems it solves, not only by the elegance of the code.

• AI-native development skills — AI tools are a natural part of how you work, but never a substitute for engineering judgment, validation, or accountability.

• Exceptional resourcefulness — you investigate, learn, unblock yourself, and find a way forward when the answer is not obvious.

• Broad technical ability — you are comfortable moving between technologies and layers rather than defining yourself by one language or framework.

• Clear, constructive communication — you explain your thinking, ask good questions, give and receive direct feedback, and make the people around you better.

• High standards with pragmatism — you care deeply about quality while knowing when to simplify, when to move quickly, and where precision matters most.

• Low ego and intellectual honesty — you are comfortable challenging strong engineers, being challenged yourself, and changing your mind when the evidence supports it.

You will typically have 7+ years of professional software-engineering experience, but we care much more about the level of problems you have owned and the quality of your work than the number of years on your CV.

Our stack

Our current stack includes TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, and GCP.

Experience with these technologies is useful, but not mandatory. We believe excellent engineers can learn new tools quickly—especially in an AI-native development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building high-scale transactional or consumer products.

• Experience with distributed systems, performance, reliability, and production observability.

• Experience with complex third-party integrations, payments, or data-heavy platforms.

• Experience in travel-tech, fintech, e-commerce, or marketplaces.

• Experience working in a fast-moving startup or small product team.

• A track record of improving engineering quality through influence rather than formal authority.
