Senior VMware Expert | Large-Scale Enterprise Virtualization

A large and leading organization is looking for a Senior VMware Expert to join a highly experienced Virtualization team and take a key role in managing and leading mission-critical, large-scale enterprise virtualization infrastructure.

This is a highly hands-on position with end-to-end responsibility for a complex VMware environment, including architecture, production troubleshooting, automation, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

The environment includes tens of thousands of virtual machines and approximately 1,000 physical servers, so we are looking for a true VMware expert with significant experience in large-scale enterprise environments.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and operate large-scale VMware environments.

• Work hands-on with VMware vSphere and vCenter.

• Deploy, operate, and perform advanced troubleshooting of VMware NSX, including Overlay Networking and Micro-Segmentation.

• Develop and maintain complex automation using vRealize Automation (vRA).

• Lead and develop large-scale infrastructure automation processes.

• Work with Cisco UCS, including Service Profiles, Fabric, Firmware, and advanced troubleshooting.

• Manage physical server infrastructure across multiple vendors, including Dell, HPE, and Lenovo.

• Troubleshoot complex, mission-critical Production issues at Tier 3/4 level.

• Design, improve, and optimize virtualization architecture.

• Collaborate closely with Networking, Storage, Security, and DevOps teams.

• Lead major technology projects, upgrades, migrations, and large-scale implementations.

• Combine deep hands-on expertise with technical leadership and architectural thinking.

Requirements

• At least 5–7 years of hands-on VMware experience in Enterprise environments.

• Experience working in large-scale environments with hundreds of Hosts and thousands of VMs.

• Significant advantage for experience with environments containing tens of thousands of VMs.

• Deep hands-on expertise with:

• VMware vSphere / vCenter

• VMware NSX – deployment, operations, and advanced troubleshooting

• vRealize Automation (vRA) – development of complex automation workflows

• Strong automation experience using PowerCLI / PowerShell – mandatory.

• Ability to develop complex scripts and workflows.

• Significant experience managing Cisco UCS environments.

• Experience working with physical servers and hardware infrastructure.

• Proven experience troubleshooting critical Production environments.

• Deep understanding of Networking, Storage, and Compute.

• At least 6 years of relevant infrastructure experience.

• Previous experience leading or managing technical teams.

• Strong ownership, independent problem-solving skills, and end-to-end responsibility.

Significant Advantages

• Experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

• Experience with vRO, vROps, and Log Insight.

• Experience in Hybrid / Cloud environments.

• Experience designing and building environments from scratch.

• Strong understanding of DR / BCP.

• Advanced VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or VCIX.
