Silicon Test Operations Engineer

DustPhotonics, now part of Credo, is seeking an experienced Silicon Test Operations Engineer to manage the day-to-day testing activities performed at our external test house.

The role is responsible for ensuring that testing is executed according to business priorities, technical procedures, quality requirements, capacity constraints, and customer shipment needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of silicon testing with hands-on experience in production operations, capacity planning, subcontractor management and execution tracking.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day test operations at the external test house and serve as the main operational and technical focal point.

• Define and manage the weekly test plan based on production and R&D priorities, customer commitments, material availability, equipment capacity and delivery requirements.

• Monitor execution, throughput, equipment utilization, capacity and plan-versus-actual performance, identifying risks and driving corrective actions when needed.

• Manage test-house capacity and resources, including equipment availability, technician capacity, maintenance, spare parts and short- and mid-term capacity planning.

• Coordinate material flow and operational handoffs between the FAB, test house and dicing vendors, working with internal teams to resolve material, data and documentation gaps.

• Ensure testing is performed according to approved procedures, specifications, quality requirements and documentation standards, including proper control of changes to equipment, software, and processes.

• Maintain accurate test-house information in the ERP system and provide regular updates on execution, capacity, risks and operational performance.

• Conduct regular on-site visits to the test house to monitor execution, resolve issues, and ensure operational and technical requirements are met.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, silicon testing, silicon photonics or a related high-tech manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of silicon testing processes, test flows, test equipment and test data.

• Experience working with semiconductor subcontractors, OSATs, foundries, test houses or other external manufacturing partners.

• Hands-on experience with production and capacity planning, equipment utilization, manpower planning and operational execution.

• Experience with ERP, MES, or manufacturing execution systems.

• Experience managing equipment-related operations, including maintenance, spare parts and site assets.

• Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze operational and test-related issues and drive practical solutions.

• Strong communication, coordination, follow-up and escalation-management skills.

• Strong written and spoken English.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.

• Ability and willingness to conduct regular visits to the i-Test facility.
