We are seeking a Software Architect to join our R&D organization and lead key architectural aspects of a program.

The role requires a strong hands‑on background, proven technical leadership, and the ability to drive architectural decisions across multidisciplinary teams working on advanced wafer‑inspection systems.

You will collaborate closely with software, hardware, algorithms, and system engineering teams to define and deliver the architecture for complex, high‑performance, distributed systems.

What’s in it for you?

This role provides an opportunity to contribute significantly to a next‑generation product line and to influence architectural direction across a multidisciplinary engineering effort.

What you'll be doing:

Architectural Ownership & System Design

• Define and maintain the architectural vision for the Hybrid Array project.

• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable distributed system components and interfaces.

• Establish and document architecture patterns, data flows, and integration points.

Technical Leadership (Non‑Managerial)

• Act as a technical authority: guide engineers through architecture decisions and trade-offs.

• Lead and participate in design and code reviews, ensuring alignment with architectural principles.

• Drive reduction of technical debt and promote best practices.

Hands‑On Technical Engagement

• Perform in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, and provide hands‑on support for complex design issues.

• Support implementation teams when resolving critical design or performance challenges.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with product managers, systems, algorithms, firmware, field teams, and hardware partners to refine requirements and validate architectural feasibility.

Technology Evaluation & Standards

• Evaluate, recommend, and adopt technologies and tools aligned with project needs.

• Contribute to defining and enforcing engineering and architecture standards

What you should have?

Required Qualifications (Must‑Have)

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• 7+ years of software development and system/architecture design experience.

• Strong hands‑on coding experience in C++, Java, Python, or similar languages.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, maintainability, and software security.

• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and modern DevOps practices.

• Demonstrated technical leadership: guiding teams, reviewing designs, influencing decisions.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantage, Not Required)

• Experience with systems involving hardware integration or image‑processing pipelines.

• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or container‑orchestration environments.

• Data‑driven decision‑making mindset (as highlighted in feedback).

• Experience in semiconductor, inspection, metrology, or other high‑throughput industrial systems.
