Software Architect

A high-growth, well-funded DeepTech startup pioneering cloud-native acceleration platforms for large-scale Big Data and AI workloads, backed by a substantial recent funding round providing long-term runway.

The company develops hardware-accelerated processing architectures pairing dedicated silicon (FPGA/ASIC) with low-level systems software to dramatically boost computation performance and efficiency without requiring alterations to existing customer code or infrastructure.

Operating with a compact, elite engineering team of dozens of experts, the company tackles fundamental compute bottlenecks across modern cloud environments.

The role offers the choice of working from the central site or the northern site adjacent to the train station, operating on a hybrid model with two days working from home.

Role Description-

• Serving as a Hands-On Software Architect / Tech Lead, owning the architectural design and implementation of core software layers that interface distributed Big Data engines with dedicated hardware accelerators.

• Providing technical leadership and driving system-level architecture from concept to high-throughput production deployment on AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Designing and implementing high-performance, low-latency integration layers connecting distributed frameworks like Apache Spark with native acceleration modules.

• Writing clean, robust, and concurrent code across mixed environments, bridging JVM-based languages (Scala / Java) with native systems code (C++).

• Conducting deep performance tuning, memory profiling, and bottleneck analysis across complex distributed architectures and data pipelines.

• Collaborating closely with hardware engineers, algorithms teams, and cloud architects to unlock extreme processing efficiency.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including proven tenure as a Software Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead – Mandatory

• Proven track record in the end-to-end design, architecture, and production delivery of large-scale, complex distributed software systems (Hands-on) – Mandatory

• High proficiency and solid production experience in Scala and/or Java – Mandatory

• Hands-on background operating within a hybrid JVM and Native code environment (C++) – Mandatory

• Deep, architectural understanding of distributed data processing engines (specifically Apache Spark) – Mandatory

• Strong practical experience building, optimizing, and deploying distributed workloads on AWS – Mandatory

• Solid foundations in OS internals, concurrency, memory management, and network I/O optimization – Significant Advantage

• Prior background interfacing software layers with hardware acceleration platforms (such as FPGA, ASIC, GPU, or custom silicon) – Advantage
