We are looking for a motivated Computer Science / Software Engineering student to join our great Backend Engineering team as a Student Software Engineer. This is an entry-level position, and no prior professional experience is required. You'll learn from experienced engineers, work on real production features, and get hands-on experience with all major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Neo4j, ElasticSearch, Redis, TimescaleDB, RabbitMQ, and more. Responsibilities • Developing, testing and maintaining backend features and services, with guidance from senior team members • Taking part in the full development lifecycle, from design through deployment and monitoring in production • Participating in design discussions and code reviews, and learning engineering best practices • Helping improve the efficiency, scalability and stability of backend system components • Working with other teams (e.g. Frontend, DevOps) to deliver features
Requirements: • 2nd year (or above) B.Sc. student in Computer Science / Software Engineering or a related field • Availability of 3–4 days a week • Solid foundations in programming, data structures and algorithms • Familiarity with at least one high-level programming language (e.g. Java, C#, Python, Go), through academic or personal projects • Fast learner, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team • Good communication skills Advantages • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, databases or message queues • Personal or academic projects (e.g. GitHub) that show your work
