Software Engineering Manager

A stable and established technology company is looking for a senior engineering leader to take a central role in driving engineering execution and software releases.

This is a high-impact role combining technology, people, execution, and delivery, with responsibility for a 20-person R&D organization and a key role in improving engineering processes, quality, and release velocity.

The Role

• Lead and develop the engineering organization, supporting team leads and developers

• Own engineering execution, delivery, and release

• Drive software quality, development processes, and engineering best practices

• Lead and coordinate end-to-end releases across R&D and other stakeholders

• Establish and improve development, CI/CD, testing, and release processes

• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development, including managing and enabling a team working intensively with AI coding tools such as Claude Code

• Ensure effective use of AI coding tools while maintaining code quality, security, architecture, and engineering standards

• Get hands-on when needed and dive into technical and delivery challenges

• Take full ownership and drive initiatives from idea to execution

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience

• 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams

• Proven experience with release management and software delivery

• Strong technical depth with a practical, execution-oriented mindset

• Experience managing and developing teams that work intensively with AI coding tools

• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, cloud environments, and modern software development practices

• Excellent leadership, ownership, accountability, and Can-Do mindset

• Comfortable operating independently and getting hands-on when needed

• Startup / smaller-company experience — significant advantage
