Software Engineering Team Lead

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Software Engineering Team Lead for a growing product company developing complex Web and GIS platforms for municipalities, local authorities and infrastructure organizations.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the company’s most senior technology authority, with broad ownership over the development function, architecture, delivery and technological direction.

This is a high-impact role combining technical leadership, hands-on engineering, people management and close involvement in the company’s product and business roadmap.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and mentor Full Stack developers in Israel and offshore

• Own planning, estimation, prioritization and delivery

• Perform Code Reviews and stay close to the code

• Lead architecture and key technical decisions

• Improve development processes, engineering standards and CI/CD

• Work with cloud, Docker and Production environments

• Drive performance and scalability in complex, data-intensive systems

• Translate business and operational needs into practical technical solutions

• Work closely with the CEO and senior management

• Influence the technology roadmap, future products and AI adoption

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of experience as a Team Lead, Tech Lead or Development Manager

• Strong hands-on software development background

• Experience with Full Stack / Web systems and system architecture

• Experience working with offshore development teams

• Good understanding of cloud environments, Docker, CI/CD and Production systems

• Strong ownership of estimation, timelines and delivery

• Ability to review code, challenge technical decisions and support developers hands-on

• High-level English

• BSc in Computer Science / Software Engineering

The company’s current technology environment includes:

• Frontend: React, TypeScript, OpenLayers

• Backend: Node.js, Python

• Databases: PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial

• GIS: GeoServer, ESRI / ArcGIS Enterprise

• Infrastructure: Docker, CI/CD, Cloud

• Data: Vector Tiles, caching, large-scale geographic data and performance optimization

What’s required technically?

You do not need previous experience with every technology in the stack.

Must have:

• Strong software development background

• Full Stack / Web systems understanding

• System architecture experience

• Cloud and Production knowledge

• Ability to review code and technically challenge developers

Strong advantage:

• React / TypeScript

• Node.js / Python

• Docker / CI/CD

• Experience with complex or data-intensive systems

GIS experience is an advantage, not a requirement, including experience with GeoServer, PostGIS, OpenLayers, ESRI or ArcGIS.
